Resources for Individuals and Families Struggling with Substance Abuse

At Plum Creek Recovery Ranch, we are committed to serving our residents as well as their loved ones. We know successful recovery begins with a great support system, so we’re dedicated to providing education and resources that support healing for all.

Drug Abuse and Addiction

It doesn’t matter whether you personally struggle with substance use issues or not – understanding addiction is difficult.

Addiction is a disease that, if not addressed, could be fatal. We have put together a list of resources to help you better understand drug use and addiction from a scientific and medical perspective.

Sample Schedule for the Residential Treatment Program

We’ve put together a day-to-day glance at what our inpatient treatment program looks like here at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch.

We spend our time curating the best plan for each individual, treating the needs of everyone who walks through our doors.

Why gender specific and gender responsive?

At Plum Creek Recovery Ranch, our primary support groups are trauma-informed, gender specific, and gender responsive. This assures all residents are comfortable sharing information they might not feel safe sharing in a mixed-gender group. We acknowledge that there are social and cultural differences between genders. Men and women experience trauma differently and respond to various types of treatment differently as well.

There is widespread recognition that gender responsive and trauma-informed treatment services for women living with substance use disorders are essential for long term recovery. Women need a safe environment to explore unresolved trauma and any shame that may be fueling their addiction. Plum Creek Recovery Ranch provides a place to safely explore these issues.

Men also experience trauma. There are issues specific to men’s trauma that need to be addressed in gender specific and gender responsive groups. These can include men’s silence surrounding abuse, the impact of male socialization on men’s responses, and the need to understand men’s shame or fear to explore trauma.

Plum Creek Recovery Ranch creates a safe environment for you to explore traumatic issues in depth to understand how it relates to your successful recovery.

What does it mean to have trauma-informed care?

Trauma-informed care means recognizing people often have many different types of trauma in their lives. Trauma-informed care at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch is a structured treatment framework that understands, recognizes, and responds to the effects of trauma with an emphasis on physical, psychological, and emotional safety to help survivors rebuild a sense of empowerment.

At Plum Creek Recovery Ranch, we promote a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing.
